| How We Protect Your Privacy |
| |
All ASSIRT Software customers
are assured of a high level of privacy protection when visiting
our website. At ASSIRT Software, we understand that the security
of your account information, and any information that personally
identifies you or your clients, is important. ASSIRT Software will take reasonable endeavours to ensure that unauthorised
people cannot access secure data through our website. There
are several features of the ASSIRT Software website
that have been implemented to ensure the security and privacy
of personal information. The site uses encryption and authentication
to protect sensitive information and our staff also follow confidentiality
policies that are designed to protect your privacy.
Our security procedures and practices are constantly being reviewed
to ensure that we continue to keep your personal information
secure. |
 |
| Security & Encryption
|
| |
ASSIRT
Software implements high encryption technologies, known
as Secure Sockets Layers (SSL) to secure personal information.
SSL uses 128 bit encryption to transfer information from your
desktop browser to the ASSIRT Software website server.
This represents a higher standard than either 40-bit SSL or
56-bit SSL (Low Encryption). High encryption represents maximum
safeguarding of private information as it is the highest level
of varying degrees of encryption security.
Look for the at
the bottom right of Internet Explorer pages. Look
for the at the bottom left
hand corner of Netscape pages. These locks mean that SSL
security is being used to transmit the data from your browser
to our server.
All information entered within the subscribers' area, including
the subscribers' login and modelling scenarios, are sent over
the SSL.
Each subscriber's login is unique and is password secured. When
a subscriber enters their password, it is sent to a server across
a SSL connection. Once your log in information reaches the ASSIRT
Software server, a MD5 hashing algorithm is used to
encrypt your password. The encrypted password is then compared
to the one ASSIRT Software stores on file. |
 |
Why
do we use High Encryption? |
| |
128-bit encryption provides a significantly
greater amount of cryptographic protection than 56-bit encryption.
Someone trying to decode a 56-bit encrypted message must find
the right key out of billions of possible choices, an extremely
difficult task. 128-bit encryption makes interception even less
likely, by providing 4.7 billion trillion times as many keys
as does 56-bit encryption.
Many people worry about the security of transactions over the
internet. 128-bit encryption represents the highest possible
standard of encryption. We recognise that personal and financial
information is of the highest sensitivity and have provided
maximum security for the protection of all information. |
 |
| High Encryption and Your Web Browser |
| |
For Internet Explorer (IE) Users:
|
In IE, go to the Help menu in
the top navigation bar and select "About Internet
Explorer".
|
|
This should open a new Microsoft
IE window.
|
|
Below the Microsoft branding
and the version number is the term Cipher Strength. If
the Cipher Strength equals 128-bit, then you will NOT
need to update your Internet Explorer encryption level.
If it is lower than 128-bit, then you will need to upgrade
your browser. |
For Netscape Users:
|
In Navigator or Communicator,
go to the Help menu and select "About Navigator"
(or Communicator).
|
|
Look for the section that reads
"Contains encryption software from RSA Data Security,
Inc".
|
|
If the next paragraph states,
"This version supports U.S. security", you have
128-bit security and will NOT need to update your browser
encryption level. However, if it states you have "International
security", unfortunately this means you have 40-bit
security and will need to upgrade your browser. |
|
| |
 |
| How can I get my browser compatible
to use High Encryption? |
| |
We
strongly recommend that you consult your Network Administrators
to upgrade your browser. If you are a Network Administrator:
For Internet Explorer Users:
If you use Internet Explorer 4.01 and above, you can download
a patch by clicking here.
Otherwise, download the latest version of Internet Explorer
by clicking here.
For Netscape Users:
If you use Netscape, download Netscape Communicator 4.7
and above by clicking here.

ASSIRT
Software uses a Microsoft Windows 2000 operating environment,
the most secure operating environment produced by Microsoft
and SQL Server 2000 for storing your data. This is integrated
tightly into the underlying operating system security.
ASSIRT Software's servers are protected by firewalls from external
access, to limit the exposure to malicious attacks. |

ASSIRT
Software collects statistical data of user behaviour
in order to measure interest in the various areas of our website
for development purposes. We do not collate users' names or
addresses with the data we collect for statistical or demographic
purposes. This information helps us to provide and improve our
products and services. Collective information may be shared
with our business partners.
We may also make
use of user IP addresses to help analyse problems with our server,
to administer our website and to gather broad demographic information.
When visiting our website, a record of the user's visit is logged
by us. Information supplied by your browser may include the
server address, operating system, the date and time of the visit,
pages accessed and the type of browser used.
We do not link
IP addresses to anything personally identifiable. Unless you
choose to log in as a subscriber, no attempt is made to identify
users. |
 |
| Cookies |
| |
A cookie is a piece of information
that an internet site sends to your browser when you access
information on that site.
Most browsers support the use of cookies. Cookies allow website
operators to assign a unique permanent identifier to a computer,
which can be used to associate the requests made to the website
from that computer.
Our website uses session (non-permanent) cookies to handle subscriber
log ins and permit authorised users to access several web servers
without re-authenticating. Our site also uses cookies to maintain
user preferences and to help protect the security of confidential
data. Your privacy and security are not compromised when you
accept a cookie from our website. Our cookies are deleted from
your computer when you log out of the ASSIRT Software
platform. |
| Registration Forms |
| |
Voluntary registration forms on our
site request prospective clients to provide us with contact
as well as some demographic information. Your email address
is used to contact you during sign-up and is initially placed
on our mailing list (see Subscriptions section below). We do
not pass on any email addresses to a third party without your
express consent.
Unique information is stored to verify your identity for future
access to particular services. For some of these services, we
will also hold data that you enter, so that you do not need
to re-key the information when you next visit the service. We
will only hold this personal data where you have registered
and been issued with a user identification and password.
We can enhance
our service to you if we learn about what you like and do not
like. We use the information you provide, during voluntary registration,
to tailor the service to your specific interests.
You can contact us at support@assirtsoftware.com.au
or telephone 1800 066 839 to correct or update
your registration information at any time. |
 |
| Subscribers and Subscriptions |
| |
When
prospective clients use the voluntary registration forms to
access specific facilities on our site, they need to provide
contact information. In order for us to supply certain features
on our site, customer support, product updates and notifications,
an email address needs to be supplied. This information is used
to contact you, when necessary. A subscriber is also initially
subscribed to our mailing list. ASSIRT
Software maintains a mailing list in order to provide
information about our services and to keep customers up-to-date
with developments.
In every email we send, we will provide instructions on how
to unsubscribe so that you can elect not to receive any future
emails. |
 |
| Modelling |
| |
Our modelling section allows you to
prepare calculations and projections based upon client profiles
that you provide. All personal and financial information entered
into the calculators and projections within the modelling section
of the ASSIRT Software subscribers' area is sent over the SSL (see
Encryption
above).
The underlying data from each projection made is saved in a
secure temporary storage area, protected by the ASSIRT Software
firewall (see Systems
Administration above).
You have the option of saving each scenario, which allows you
to retrieve the calculation and projection information and reuse
it at a later time. Saved scenarios are encrypted and stored
behind the ASSIRT Software firewall. Scenarios are
only accessible by the user who created the scenario.
Scenarios that are projected but not saved by the user are not
permanently stored on the ASSIRT Software server. Unsaved scenarios
are purged from the ASSIRT Software server when the
session expires or times outs (after an inactivity period of
15 minutes). Once the session has ended or the user closes their
browser or log outs, the unsaved scenarios are no longer retrievable.
Users can, at any time, retrieve and delete any scenarios they
created but no longer wish to utilise. Deleted scenarios are
removed from the ASSIRT
Software server and the projections are no longer housed
by ASSIRT Software. |
 |
| External Links Access to Partner |
| |
Some of the facilities provided by
our website are co-branded with business partners. When a user
requests these facilities for the first time, authenticated
access to servers that are controlled by our business partners
may be required. To fulfil this request, we supply your authentication
data to the business partner. When the registration data contains
information that could be used to identify a user, ASSIRT Software requires that the business partner does not disclose
this information to third parties.
Advertisements and Third-Party Sites
Our website sometimes contains links to sites and resources
that are maintained by third parties. If you choose to visit
these sites, please note that ASSIRT Software is not
responsible for the privacy practices, content or availability
of such sites or resources, and does not endorse or is liable
